About Us

NPCAN Mission: Guided by compassion, equity and inclusion, the New Prague Community Action Network seeks to positively and peacefully impact our community through outreach and advocacy.

Values: The following values guide our organization:

  • Love, Kindness and Compassion – We operate with these principles in all that we do.
  • Acceptance, Inclusion, Understanding and Respect – We honor diversity within our community, respect our differences, and seek understanding to make our community stronger.
  • Equity – We believe it is our obligation to uplift and protect the equitable rights of all people, and strive to foster acceptance within our community.  Thereby, we support groups or individuals who may be affected by racism, sexism, discrimination based on sexual orientation or gender identity, religious intolerance, xenophobia, or any ideologies that support inequities.
  • IntegrityWe are guided by honesty, truthfulness, and dignity in all of our efforts.
  • Service to Others – We strive to help others without thought for personal gain or reward.
  • Environmental Responsibility –  We believe that our environment and climate must be protected for future generations and that our natural resources cannot be exploited at the risk of public safety and health.
  • Empowerment – We work to support and strengthen individual voices, in the collective effort toward our mission.

About the NPCAN Logo: The new purple color (blue + red) represents an open door to all individuals who embrace our mission and values. There are also 5 RINGS of polka dots which represent the individual (center most ring), family (2nd ring), friends (3rd ring), community (4th ring), and country / world (5th ring).  NPCAN is all about community, and community begins with the individual, extends to our family and friends, which then impacts our community, and ultimately our country and the world.  Even small acts can make a BIG difference. The NPCAN logo offers a reminder for its members to promote the mission and values in everything we do!
